Shopify's AI Product Video Apps Charge $0.04 to $1.29 a Video — and One Won't Tell You the Number at All

Shopify Magic's own media generation tools cover background removal, logo generation, and hero banners — images only, per Shopify's Help Center. There is also an unrelated app literally named 'Magic: Product Photos & Videos' that charges $19.99–$49.99/month and has nothing to do with Shopify. Meanwhile, eight real AI product-video apps bill on five incompatible units: credits, videos, points, a flat $1 per video, and one-time packs with no subscription at all. Normalized to a real cost per finished video, the spread runs from about $0.04 to $1.29 — roughly 32x — and one app's $39–$99/month plans don't disclose a video quota at all. Search "Shopify Magic video" and the second or third result is often an app literally called Magic: Product Photos & Videos. It has nothing to do with Shopify. The developer is Made By Magic Inc., a third party, and the app charges $19.99 to $49.99 a month. Shopify's own free Shopify Magic, per its official Help Center, generates images — background removal, a new logo, a new hero banner — and stops there. No video.

That naming collision is a decent entry point into a category where the real problem isn't whether AI can turn a product photo into a video. It can, and eight real Shopify apps do it today. The problem is that every one of them bills on a different unit — credits, videos, points, a flat per-video charge, or a one-time pack with no subscription — and translating any of that into a number you can actually budget against takes more work than any listing page does for you. Normalize all eight to a real cost per finished video and the spread runs roughly 32x, from about $0.04 to about $1.29. One app's mid-tier plans don't disclose a video quota at all, so there's no number to normalize in the first place.

The short version

  • Shopify Magic's documented media generation covers background removal, logo generation, and hero banners. Video generation is not listed as a Shopify Magic capability.
  • A separate, unaffiliated app named Magic: Product Photos & Videos exists on the App Store and is easy to mistake for Shopify's own tool. It runs $19.99–$49.99/month.
  • Eight real AI product-video apps were compared: AI Product Video, CreatorKit ‑ AI Image & Video, Animate Product AI: Videos, Vidoo ‑ AI Product Video Maker, Provid.AI: Product Video Maker, VideoPoint — Fashion AI Videos, Videomate: AI Product Videos, and VideoMagic: AI Product Videos.
  • Normalized to $ per finished video at each app's highest disclosed-volume plan, the range runs from about $0.04 (AI Product Video) to about $1.29 (Animate Product AI) — roughly 32x for the same job.
  • CreatorKit's $39/month and $99/month plans do not state how many videos or images are included, so no per-video figure can be computed from public information.
  • Only Vidoo carries the official Built for Shopify badge among the eight. Its Premium plan also advertises "unlimited product videos" right next to a stated "10 automated videos/day" cap — the two claims aren't fully reconciled on the listing.
  • VideoMagic and Videomate are the only two with no recurring subscription: VideoMagic sells one-time credit packs, Videomate charges a flat $1 per additional video.

What Shopify Magic actually covers

Per the Shopify Help Center's Shopify Magic page, Shopify Magic is free on every plan and its "Media generation" section is integrated into the admin's media editor. What it names, specifically, is removing a product image's background, generating a new logo, and generating new hero banners. That's the entire documented list. There's no mention of turning a still image into a moving product video.

That gap is exactly the market the eight apps below fill — and it's also exactly why a third-party app trading on the word "Magic" is worth flagging by name. Magic: Product Photos & Videos, from Made By Magic Inc., is a legitimate, separately-built app: Free at 20 one-time credits with a watermark, Shopify Growth at $19.99/month for 300 credits with no watermark, and Shopify Pro at $49.99/month for 1,000 credits with priority support. None of that is wrong or hidden — but a merchant who assumes "Magic" in an app name means "made by Shopify" will be paying a third-party subscription for something they thought was already free.

Eight apps, five incompatible meters

Every figure below is from each app's Shopify App Store listing on September 6, 2026, in USD. Several of these apps launched in 2025–2026 and carry very few reviews — that's noted per app, not smoothed over.

AI Product Video

From Huzhop, launched May 11, 2026, with zero reviews at research date. Four tiers by videos-per-month: Starter at $0.99/month for 10 videos (15s max), Basic at $9.99/month for 100 videos (45s max), Pro at $29.99/month for 500 videos (80s max, bulk and auto generation), and Business at $79/month for 2,000 videos (120s max). That Business tier works out to roughly $0.04 per video — the cheapest in this comparison — but there is no review history yet to confirm output quality or support responsiveness.

CreatorKit ‑ AI Image & Video

CreatorKit has been listed since 2021 and covers both AI product photos and video-ad templates, including Brand Kit automation aimed at Meta Advantage+ catalog ads. The catch: its Free plan, $39/month PRO plan, and $99/month Business plan describe storage limits, template access, and support tiers, but none of them state how many videos or images you actually get. There's no way to compute a per-video cost from the public listing. CreatorKit also carries a 2.5/5 rating from 6 reviews, including one describing continued billing after cancellation with no refund response, and another describing the app failing to recognize a paid subscription tier.

Animate Product AI: Videos

From Animate Image, launched April 2025. Billing runs on credits: Starter at $9/month for 140 credits (7 videos), Premium at $25/month for 440 credits (22 videos), Ultra at $60/month for 1,200 credits (60 videos), plus one-time credit packs from $6.50. That prices out to $1.00–$1.29 per video depending on tier — the highest in this set. The one differentiator: every paid plan explicitly states commercial usage rights are included, a licensing detail none of the other seven apps state on their listings. Only one review exists at research date.

Vidoo ‑ AI Product Video Maker

Vidoo, from Outfy, is the only app in this comparison carrying the official Built for Shopify badge, and its listing flags it as "Popular with stores like yours" and based in the United States. Pricing is simple on paper: Free at 5 videos/month with 1 automated video/day, and Premium at $15/month advertising "unlimited product videos" with "10 automated videos/day." Those two Premium claims sit awkwardly together — if "unlimited" only applies to videos you trigger manually while automation is capped at 10/day (roughly 300/month at the ceiling), the real per-video cost ranges from about $0.05 up near $0.75 depending on how you actually use it, and the listing doesn't fully reconcile the two numbers.

Six of Vidoo's seven reviews are 5-star, praising setup ease and video quality; one 1-star review reports the app not working after subscribing, with unresponsive chat support.

Provid.AI: Product Video Maker

From iTechNotion. Free gets 5 videos; Starter is $9.99/month for 20 videos with no watermark; Growth is $29.99/month for 100 videos plus AI voiceover and bulk creation; Pro is $79.99/month for 500 videos, working out to roughly $0.16/video. Pricing clarity is genuinely better here than CreatorKit's. The problem is reputation: Provid.AI carries a 1.0/5 rating from a single detailed review reporting the app displayed products incorrectly and that the $29.99 charge was wasted. The developer publicly disputed the account and asked for diagnostic details, so treat this as one unresolved, disputed data point rather than a confirmed pattern — but at n=1, there's no offsetting positive signal either.

VideoPoint — Fashion AI Videos

VideoPoint, from TouchPoints Inc in Austin, is the outlier in scope: it bundles AI video/photo generation with auto-distribution to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Meta Ads, plus on-site shoppable video widgets. Pricing bundles "AI Points" for generation with "Shoppable Video Views" for the widget/feed side of the product, so its $0.55–$0.67 per-video figure (Starter at $9.99/month for ~15 five-second videos, up to Grow at $99.99/month for ~180) isn't a clean apples-to-apples number against the other seven generation-only apps — part of what you're paying for is distribution and hosting capacity. It also has by far the largest review base here: 36 reviews, all 5-star at research date, with specific merchant testimonials about generating video across denim and swimwear catalogs and getting fast, hands-on support.

Videomate: AI Product Videos

The simplest pricing in this whole comparison: free to install with 5 free credits, then a flat $1 per additional credit, and 1 credit generates 1 video. No plan tiers, no annual discount, no ambiguity about what a unit means — just $1.00 per video, full stop. That transparency comes at a cost: with no volume discount, it's tied with Animate Product AI's entry tier for most expensive at scale. Launched February 2026 with no reviews yet.

VideoMagic: AI Product Videos

From LaineDev. The only app here with zero recurring billing risk: 10 free videos to start, then one-time packs — $15 for 50 videos, $57 for 200, $270 for 1,000 (about $0.27/video at the top pack). It also supports "cinematic multi-shot sequences with up to 6 scenes," a feature none of the other seven describe. Three reviews, all 5-star, cite time savings and direct upload into the product media library. Whether purchased credits ever expire isn't stated on the pricing page.

Which one fits your store

You want the lowest cost per video at real volume and can tolerate a brand-new, unreviewed app: AI Product Video's Business tier, at roughly $0.04/video, is the cheapest disclosed number in this comparison — with the caveat that zero reviews means no independent signal on quality.

You want an officially Built for Shopify app with hands-off daily automation: Vidoo, keeping in mind the "unlimited" claim isn't fully reconciled with the stated 10-per-day automation cap, so confirm your actual usage pattern before assuming the $15/month plan is unlimited in practice.

You need documented commercial usage rights on every plan and volume is low: Animate Product AI is explicit about this where the others aren't, at the cost of the highest per-video price here.

You don't want a subscription at all: VideoMagic (one-time packs, cheaper per video at volume) or Videomate (flat $1/video, better for occasional, irregular use) are your only two options.

You're a fashion or apparel brand that also wants social distribution and shoppable video, not just generation: VideoPoint bundles all three with the deepest review base in this set — but you're paying for the bundle, not a standalone generator.

You can't get a disclosed video quota from a vendor before paying: don't commit. That's CreatorKit's current situation — get the actual number in writing before subscribing at $39 or $99/month.

Your actual need is a background swap, a new logo, or a hero banner — not a moving video: Shopify Magic already does that for free. No app purchase needed.

RelatedAuto-tagging Shopify products: where Shopify Flow structurally stops, and which apps fill the gap

Shopify Flow adds and removes product tags for free on every paid plan, but its Get product data action returns at most 100 products per run, so backfilling an existing catalog becomes a scheduled loop. Flow also has no generic Product updated trigger, which means it structurally cannot re-tag a product after you edit its type, vendor, or price. Shopify Magic suggests a product category and fills category metafields, but product tag generation is not on its published feature list. The six apps compared here meter completely different units: Leap Auto Tags counts every tag added and every tag removed as one credit against 2,000 per month at $8, FilterTag meters 500 to 50,000 generated tags per month at $9 to $59, TAGit AI works out to 3 to 9 cents per generated tag, and Helium charges $9.99 one-time per 100 products. Mechanic and Matrixify charge flat fees of $16 to $199 and $20 to $200 with no per-tag metering at all. Check the denominator before you check the price. Researched September 3, 2026.
